Betrayer - Steam Edition

Betrayer is a Gothic Horror first person perspective game with RPG elements set in colonial America in the 1600 or 1700's (I'm not sure how else to describe it). It seemed rather intriguing since I was looking for a good horror game, but when I started to play through the first 30 minutes of the game was really slow and there does not seem to be a story line or path to follow (you just kind of go around and search for clues, but clues do not really have a direct answer to your purpose in this game). Throughout the beginning of the game, you fight these guys who look like Spanish Conquistadors, they also seem demonically possessed, but they could be undead, there is no real explanation, so you're going to have to play though the game to find out who or what they are.

Instead of boring you all with my piss poor summary, I'll just cut to the point; this game was boring. I might give it a second chance at some point, but I pretty much stopped playing after I reached the fort and began exploring the lands. After being killed over and over by the Conquistador blockade to the South West portion of the map, I decided to call it quits. The enemy has really stupid AI and are relarively easy to beat one on one or even three on one, but when they outnumber you 10 to 1 and can often two shot kill you with their firearms, it gets overwhelming (do keep in mind that you are using primitive firearms that take forever to reload as well as bow and arrows with very limited ammo). I suppose if I had the patience, I would eventually figure out a strategy on how to beat 10 demon/undead conquistadors, but for now, I'm going to take a break from this game.

By the way, add me on Steam if you want to play something (anything): Steam ID = daclaud-lee
